Name: Lauren Tennant
Preferred Rank: Commander
Position: First Officer
Species: Human
Age: 32
Physical Description: Lauren has long black hair that curls and twists around into little sausage shapes. Her eyes are a light blue, and she has pale skin. She stands at 5 foot 7, and weighs about 10 stone.
Birthplace: Earth, Scotland, Aberdeen
Hobbies: Canoeing, playing chess, flying ships
Likes: Chocolate (anything chocolate), reading, adventure, danger
Dislikes: Spiders, heights (as in, dizzying heights), and blood
Family on board? None
History/Background/Education
Lauren was born in a northern city of Scotland, Aberdeen. As a child, her parents moved around a lot because her father was an architect. When in Akrotiri, Cyprus, her mother gave birth to her only sibling, a brother called Jack.
She was lucky to have private education by her mother, who had been a CONN officer back in the day, before she left Starfleet to raise a family. Since she was small, she wanted to follow her mother into Starfleet.
When she left home at 18, she passed her summer classes and entered Starfleet. She went straight to CONN, knowing that was what she wanted to do. Unfortunately, it just wasn't her thing, so she switched to security. It suited her miles better, and she really enjoyed the thrills, and the possibility of secret missions.
The first ship she was posted on was the USS Carnival. She was always going onto planets to protect the first officer, and she thoroughly enjoyed her work, but saw many friends die.
When she was promoted to Lieutenant JG, she was made the chief of security as the original chief left for a posting on another ship as the First Officer. She found this work much harder, but being young – only 25 – and the head of a department turned out to be good for her.
At 26, she was promoted to full Lieutenant. She was transferred to the USS Independence as both second officer and chief of security and tactical. Due to her skills in controlling the ship when the captain and XO were captured, she was promoted to Lieutenant Commander, and received the Christopher Pike medal for Valour.
In 2388, she was promoted to Commander, and posted as the second officer of the newest USS Voyager
Personality Profile: Lauren is one of the most stubborn, sarcastic, prickly and annoying people you will probably ever meet. She has a mischevious streak in her, but is generally kind and helpful.
However, when she is pressured highly, she may give in or stop whatever she is doing and get herself a nice mug of hot chocolate. Lauren is a laugh to be with if your a friendly person, but if you annoy her, watch out.
Lauren cares for her friends dearly, and even though she is away from them a lot, she always tries to keep in touch with her friends, and her family - if she knew who they were. The biggest thing that gets Lauren down is when something goes wrong, and that can be bad at times, as she will become depressed and lonely. She is one who will jump at the chance to go onto another planet.
Other Personal Details: Her brother is also in Starfleet

Role-Play Sample: Lola sat in her chair like she had done yesterday, and the day before, but with a PADD in her hand. She was jabbing away at it with a finger, a look of concentration on her face, her brow furrowed deeply as she paused and thought about what next to write. Her holonovel was coming along nicely, if Lola did say so herself. She'd been working on it for just a few days, but had already compiled quite the story. It had all started as a random idea one night a month or so before she was to report to the Babylon.
She'd been on the Wolfgang at the time, when it occured to her to write her adventures on board the Babylon, but under a pseudonym of course. So far, as she'd seen most of the crew, or head of them at least, she had everyone transformed into new characters for her book. As an example, Commander Kal Winchester was now Commander Chris Williams, a man who'd served in the Dominion War and been captured by the Cardassians early on, but escaped and saved the lives of his fellow prisoners. Lieutenant Commander Jamie Grey was now Lieutenant Commander Jack Marron, a man who was always ready to leap into unforgiving situations no matter the consequences. Captain Ceran, well, he was now Captain Rolar Kobay, an older Bajoran with many experiences under his belt. 'Rolar' had been on board the one and only USS Enterprise too!
Lola had made a few changes to her character. She was now called Leah Jones, the protagonist of the book, obviously. This young medical officer's love interest was Commander Chris Williams too, something she hoped no one would ever find out. But, there was a woman called Cody Andrew, who was always poking her nose into unwanted places. She had planned that Cody, based on Dodi Alexander, would find out about Leah's crush on the commander, and then he'd find out. But what happened next... Well, Lola was still stuck on that part right now.
"Huh... What would Kal do if I did have a crush on him?" Lola thought aloud. She was glad there was no one else around. She did have a habit of blurting out things she wasn't supposed to. At least nobody had inquired or found out about her enhancements yet. No doubt someone would and the captain would be having words with her. Hell, she'd already told Starfleet, that's why she was still there.
